Course Overview

This comprehensive course is designed for frontline clinicians working in primary care settings, particularly in low-resource, humanitarian, or conflict-affected contexts. Covering everything from foundational knowledge to operational systems and capacity-building approaches, this course equips health workers with the tools they need to deliver safe, structured, and effective NCD care.

Modules

1. NCD Essentials (7.5 hours)

Develop the core clinical knowledge needed to diagnose and manage common NCDs in primary care. This module focuses on Diabetes, Hypertension, CVD, Asthma, and COPD with interactive case studies and self-paced learning resources.

2. NCD Extension (3.5 hours)

Deepen your clinical knowledge by exploring pathophysiology, diagnosis, and prevention strategies for each NCD. Designed for learners who have completed the Essentials module and want to consolidate and expand their understanding.

3. NCD Clinical Skills (10 hours)

Build hands-on clinical confidence with practical demonstrations and reflective exercises. Learn best practices for measuring blood pressure, assessing cardiovascular risk, managing diabetes, and more. This module is ideal for clinicians aiming to improve their day-to-day patient care.

4. NCD Operations (8.5 hours)

Understand the operational systems needed for effective NCD service delivery: from managing patient registers and stock control to building leadership, teamwork, and recall systems. This module helps participants develop their own action plan for improved NCD care.

5. NCD Training-of-Trainers (ToT) and Cascade Assignment (10 hours)

Gold Tier Only
This advanced module is exclusive to organisations on the PCI Academy Gold Subscription. It builds participants' skills in adult learning and training design, preparing them to cascade knowledge and scale impact. Includes practical assignments and coaching from experienced facilitators.

Access Requirements:
This course is available to all organisations with a Bronze, Silver, or Gold PCI Academy subscription.
The Training-of-Trainers module is exclusive to Gold tier partners.

Certification:
All learners who complete the full course (excluding ToT) will receive a certificate. Gold subscribers who complete the ToT and cascade assignment will receive an additional certification recognising them as a Trainer for NCD Management.

Support Provided:
All learners will have access to the PCI Academy helpdesk, peer discussion boards, and guidance from clinical associates. Gold tier users may also access live support, feedback on action plans, and facilitator coaching.
