How are humanitarians using AI tools like Chat GPT?

Jack Barton

The use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) is rapidly growing in various industries and fields, including healthcare, finance, manufacturing, transportation, the humanitarian sector and more. AI technology has the ability to automate routine tasks, analyse vast amounts of data, and make predictions or recommendations based on patterns and trends that humans may not detect. As AI continues to advance, it has the potential to transform society and create new opportunities for innovation and progress. By leveraging the capabilities of AI tools like Chat GPT, humanitarians can improve the speed and accuracy of their response efforts, as well as reduce costs and streamline processes. However, it is also important to address the ethical and societal implications of AI, including issues of privacy, bias, and job displacement.

Jack Barton, our Digital Project Manager shares in this article by the CALP Network how at PCI, we are using AI to provide technical support to clinicians using our online learning platform via the PCI Academy; produce informative ‘how-to’ videos which have proven to be cost-effective; localise training materials, ensuring it is relevant in multiple contexts and so on.
