A New Era for The PCI Academy

Sep 6 / Primary Care International

The PCI Academy is evolving

Why we’ve made a change
Strong primary care is the backbone of every health system — especially in low-resource, humanitarian, and conflict-affected settings. And yet, frontline clinicians in these contexts are too often left under-supported, under-resourced, and isolated. The PCI Academy has been working with Ministries of Health, UN agencies and NGOs to close that gap — delivering practical, clinically grounded training to over 5,000 health workers in 50+ countries. But the needs are growing — and funding is shrinking. That’s why we’ve redesigned our model.

What’s new?

We’ve simplified everything.

Until now, we negotiated access to individual courses with each organisation — a process that took time and often limited reach.

Now, all our online courses are bundled together into a single subscription. One price. Full access. Three tiers depending on the size and support level you need.

What’s included?

Courses now available via The PCI Academy include:

  • NCD Course – Essentials, Extension, Clinical Skills, Operations, and ToT

  • Mental Health in Primary Care

  • Leadership in Primary Care

  • Paediatrics in Primary Care

  • Sexual & Reproductive Health in Primary Care

  • Digital Literacy for Health Professionals

  • Pain Management in Primary Care

  • Clinical and Communication Skills videos and scenarios

Every course includes pre- and post-course quizzes, guidance documents, and practical, case-based learning. French versions of the NCD and Leadership courses are already available — with other translations available upon request.

Why this matters

In a time of scarce resources, the ability to train clinicians at scale — with minimal setup and proven impact — is more important than ever. The PCI Academy provides a trusted, evidence-based way to:

  • Strengthen capacity across national health systems and humanitarian programmes

  • Build the skills of partner organisations and decentralised teams

  • Support localisation through flexible learning

  • Deliver excellent value for money

This is not just an online course — it’s an investment in people, in systems, and in future health outcomes.
