Pain is one of the most common reasons people seek care in primary health settings — yet it’s often misunderstood or under-managed, particularly when it becomes chronic. This course helps you take a structured and patient-centred approach to assessing and managing pain.

Through practical case examples and focused learning units, the course equips primary care clinicians to improve their understanding of pain, avoid common pitfalls, and offer more effective, empathetic care — even in low-resource and high-pressure environments.

3. Case-Based Learning: Lower Back Pain
Work through the clinical approach to one of the most frequent complaints in primary care — with a focus on history-taking, red flags, patient education, and self-management.

4. Case-Based Learning: Knee Pain & Osteoarthritis

Who It’s For

This course is designed for frontline clinicians — doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals — who provide first-line assessment and treatment for pain. It’s ideal for those working in resource-constrained or humanitarian contexts where pain is common and referral options may be limited.
